Rules and Regulations
Contestants must be male and have reached the age of 18 on or before the day of the pageant. Positive proof of age and sex may be required. must not hold or have held any titles except local only newcomer titles no preliminary Newcomer titles.
Entry fee is 50$ till Aug 1st, after that an entry fee of $75 must be paid in cash only by rehearsals the day of the pageant. Entry fees are non-refundable unless pageant is cancelled.
Registration and rehearsal will be at 3:00 p.m. at The Carousel II August 18th. We request that all contestants attend, as we will run through all music and placements for presentation and contestant numbers will also be drawn at this time.
The pageant will start at 10:00 p.m. unless otherwise designated at rehearsal.
All contestants are required to be at the bar by 9:00pm, so that music may be turned in and organized in a timely manner. One Point for every minute will be deducted for late contestants.
No drugs or excessive alcohol consumption will be tolerated! Any contestants participating in these acts will be disqualified and removed from the bar.
Any contestant caught vandalizing or stealing property of others or of The Carousel II will be disqualified and removed from the premises.
All music must be submitted on one CD as follows:
Track 1 - Presentation
Track 2 - Talent
Track 2 - Crowning Number
Please make sure your music is volume controlled when burned or recorded and make sure your CD is not scratched or dirty. The DJ is NOT responsible for any mistakes or skips in music that is improperly recorded or uncared for discs.
The use of fire, water , or any other type of act which may result in harm or injury to either yourself, others, or property of The Carousell II is prohibited. No Substances may be used that can’t be removed by you in the time allowed for take down after talent. If you have any questions, please contact Talia.
Props and back-up dancers are both allowed and encouraged, but please make note of the limited space. If you have more than four people in your group (including yourself and one dresser), please contact Talia in advance.
Each contestant is allowed one dresser/assistant backstage. ID tags will be issued. Talent back up dancers should be ready at start of pageant as Talent is the second category.
There will be five judges with a possible 200 points maximum per judge. Scoring is based on total accumulation. Judges’ decisions are final. In the event of a tie, another on-stage question will be asked. Judges will score the contestants on their answers to break the tie.

Categories
Presentation
Theme: Wild Wild West. However you want to interpret that, Cowgirls, Indians, Saloon girls, a character from an old western. The skies the limit!
Possible: 50 points
Note: Your own music is required for this category, and you will be introducing yourself to the judges and audience on stage. This is your chance to recognize any of your sponsors (if you so choose to), and to elaborate on your choice for theme, or represent yourself verbally however you see fit.
Talent
Possible: 50 points
Note: This is the category to show the judges what you’re made of! Your own music is also required for this category. Talent performances are limited to no longer than seven minutes. If needed, each contestant is also allowed three minutes before and after their talent number to set up and tear down props on stage. All props used during your production must be cleaned up and removed from the stage.
Evening Gown
Possible: 50 points
Note: For this category, judges will be looking for elegance, originality, proper fit, proper accessories, hairstyle that compliments the gown and the overall look, and how well the gown is modeled by the contestant. Remember to smile!
Question & Answer
Possible: 50 points
This will be done after all contestants have competed in evening gown. Each contestant will be asked different questions. The questions will be provided at registration.
